Carriage Barn Realty is an Exclusive
Buyer Agency dedicated to finding clients the best house,
condo or land at a favorable price. Working with clients
in the Berkshires, Carriage Barn Realty serves as a trusted
and knowledgeable partner, helping them understand the
marketplace and stay focused. Clients will never experience
any pressure to buy a specific property. The goal of Carriage
Barn Realty is not to sell a property listed by any particular
agency but to help clients find the property that best
suits them.
There are no additional fees for the
buyer who purchases using the services of Carriage Barn
Realty. Buyer’s Agents are compensated by the listing agent who sells the property.
Almost without exception, houses for
sale in Berkshire County are available to Carriage Barn
Realty through a web- based Multiple Listing Service (MLS).
Listing agents are required to show their properties in the on-line MLS
within two days of obtaining an “Exclusive Right
to Sell” contract from the seller.
Carriage Barn Realty has worked successfully

Broker/Owner
Jack Machanik first came to the Berkshires
from South Africa, with an International General Electric
Fellowship and worked in the GE High Voltage Laboratory
in Pittsfield. He volunteered as an usher at Tanglewood
and fell in love with the Berkshires before moving to
California to further his graduate studies at Stanford
University.
Jack returned to the Berkshires as a
full-time resident in 2000 when he retired after a
distinguished
career as an Electrical Engineer and Computer Scientist
in California and New York. During the intervening
years
he was a second home owner and a frequent visitor in
the Berkshires from his homes on Long Island and in
New York City. Jack chose to share his love of the
Berkshires through a second career in Real Estate
and founded Carriage
Barn Realty as an Exclusive Buyer Agency. The agency
has achieved success in the role of a “Personal
Shopper” for clients who wish to purchase a
home in the Berkshires
